Hey, Sorry Jessica for not responding earlier, I haven't been on the site for a while or either I missed your message. But if you are still interested in making your own BOS, I will be glad to assist you.
First, I started with making the pages, using pix from the show manipulating the photos with some very good and useful pc software. I also bought a few discs with some pages done by others, which some included spells and potions and other info. The pages on the cd's though weren't very good at all. They used shots of the book taken from the show that they just cut and layed out, so they weren't porportioned correctly on the finished page, which is where my software came in handy. And then there were some that had pages already printed on parchment paper that proved to be unuseful, cuz when you print them out, you have a white border...NOT good. I have done my pages on white paper, so if you wish to print them on parchment paper, you don't get borders. I can start you off with some pages that you can save and print. And one other thing that bugged me was that they all had the same pages, so someone was copying someone, so needless to say I had a multitude of funky pages. Luckily the discs that I bought from ebay memebers selling these things weren't costly. But later I will be posting a how-to on how to make the cover.
There is also a site that is good for demons, magical beings, potions and etc that you can go to. I love it. It's all about charm with pictures and episode info. http://www.thedemonsjumble.com/
I don't find that charm fan sites to have real useful info when making a BOS.
I will be frequently visiting my site again like I used to, so if you have any other questions or anything, feel free to ask.
you know jessica you are my savior. i like the idea that your not a rip off jackass like alot of people and i personally think you are smart. i have a lap top but no printer so i have to go to fed ex or something to print the pages and lucky me for getting $60 today thats enough to print all of your pics and the tallpoppy pics in total about 226 pics for my thin bos. hey do you think i should post pics about my bos on here or send some to you but they are hand drawn and also are you wiccan because i am not just wondering ok hope you post soon by!
Thanks for the compliment first of all, but yeah, I have been to the tallpoppy site, but never bought any pages. The discs that I mentioned before did not have good pages at, so needless to say I didn't use them.
But anywho, that would be cool if you could post some of your pages, that is one of the reason I started this group so that others could share their work. I have spent countless hours working on my pages, which has been work in progress for a number of years, so I know that for someone who wants their BOS to be close to the real thing, is real time consuming. So getting help from others to get it done in this lifetime would be nice.
Hey, and pass this blog on to others you might know that are making their own BOS. I pretty much abandoned my book and this site cuz it didn't have memebers that were really into making a book of shadows. It would give me more incentive to finish mine if this group had more members like yourself.
And no, I'm not Wiccan but I have researched it and contemplated about becoming Wiccan. I have some friends that are into it, pretty cool stuff.
So, I'm gonna start making more pages soon; you've inspired my to get my butt in gear and get back to my book.
And don't forget to join the group (Charmed Fanatics for the Sisters Three) to get more pages.
